As I have said at times throughout my blog I love bird items. I think this might have first started when I was very young and fell in love with my grandmothers embroidered bluebird of happiness supper cloth. I've been looking on the internet this morning and I have decided to start a collection of antique/vintage bird brooches, pendants and little bird items which I will eventually display in a miniature gallery/shop. I will also collect/make some bird miniatures for display inside and outside the gallery/shop and will hunt out vintage bird images to make pictures/furniture.
I'd love for you to tap into your imagination and suggest a good name for such a gallery, e.g. Flight of Fancy, Chirp & Cheap, or ???????
It will be a wonderful collection!
ReplyDeleteI like Flight of Fancy or.."to all the birds I loved before" wait that's kind of a song ;)
Well I'm not that good in making up names, but I think the idea of a shop with this bird theme is fantastic.....wait a moment, I think you made up the name yourself already! BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS :))))
ReplyDeleteOOOOH, Bird Names.... How about "Sand Pipers" or "The Crow's Nest" or "The Magpie's Trove" or "Swallows Tails" or "Indigo Buntings".... or "Kingfishers"..... "Song of the Lark" or "Nightingales"..... I LOVE bird names... they are so exotic and evocative! I LOVE your idea of a Bird Themed Shop!
ReplyDeleteTweet Treats, Wings of Wonder and Whimsy, I do like Flights of Fancy too!
ReplyDeleteI can see this project is starting to gather a life of its own. I will have to start jotting down some ideas. Thank you for your comments and name suggestions. I will keep a list of the suggested names as there might be little 'side branches' to the project. I still like Flight of Fancy for the gallery, but there could be little adjoining cafe or sweet shop called Tweet Treats, perhaps a Crows Nest above the shop, The Magpie's Trove would make a great second hand shop, I could imagine a mini movie poster advertising a movie called 'Bluebird of Happiness' ... the visual images ...
