Back at Last

I can't believe it is six months since I started this blog. So much for it keeping me accountable to put bum on seat and do some miniatures. My sister is still waiting for her dollshouse and my Christmas scene is no further ahead. However, I am pleased to report that this weekend I finally made some me time and created some miniatures. I decided to try to make some gingerbread cottages for my Christmas scene... but somehow I got distracted and made a selection of fimo foods and a bird house scene instead. Not one gingerbread house in sight!

Some of the food... my daughter's Little Pets and Sylvanians were the recipients of some of my less successful attempts.

I made the glass cake dish out of three clear buttons and a clear push pin. I read how to do it somewhere recently and it reminds me how much fun it is to use everyday items and bits of 'junk' to make miniatures. One man's junk... is a miniaturist's treasure!

This is the birdhouse scene. I really enjoyed working on this, although cutting the individual leaves was fiddly. I also didn't have the right glues but 'made do' with what I had. I need to work on the base but it is not quite dry yet.

Anyway, I'm just glad I've got something to report on for a change. I really enjoyed my weekend of crafting and will try and blog again soon.
