That's a lovely idea! I've seen people make spiral stairs, old fashioned heating stoves and other various creations with these. I used one blade to add decoration to a wall clock. The possibilities are endless! :D
Your Umbrella stand is lovely! I wish I could find one of those old Wooden fans!!!! As Brae says.... the possibilities... oh the possibilities... Tiny boxes, lattice for window shutters... I really wish I could Find one of them!!!
I think some of the carving on old fans would lend so well to the wonderful project you are working on. As you say the possibilities are endless. Keep an eye out on on-line auctions and op shops. Hopefully you will run one down. I would love to see what you do with them. One fan usually has quite a few blades(?) on it so you get quite a bit of miniature carvings from one fan. I think you can also get modern reproductions at some of the cheap emporium shops.
Oooooh! An umbrella stand! That never occurred to me, but it looks fabulous! They work for all sorts of things, yes. And you can, or at least used to, find them at WalMart in the floral section... or with the smelly good reed difusers. :)

ReplyDeleteDecoration on a wall clock is a great idea. Would also lend well to some of the old radios. More ideas to explore.
