I'm Still Here!

Hi from New Zealand - where winter is definitely settling in. I'm currently sitting at my computer fully clothed and with my dressing gown over top and thick woolly socks on - so glamorous!

Just a quick message so you know I haven't stepped off the edge of blogland. I've just been busy (not with miniatures unfortunately). Hopefully I'll get back into miniatures during the week and will have something to post soon.

In the meantime just a couple of quick things to report.

Firstly, I am participating this year in Jazzi's Christmas in July Swap. This is the first time I've done something like this and I am really excited. My swap partner is Manu of Italy. This is her blog site:

The idea of the swap is to make something for your swap partner from found or recycled items and post it so they receive it by 31 July. I am using this as a stepping stone to participate in other on-line miniature events such as other swaps and competitions.

Secondly, I noticed this morning I now have 48 followers - so close to 50. I'll definitely have to have a giveaway soon to thank my followers. Perhaps when I reach 50 I'll have a think about what I could make as a giveaway.

Hope everyone is enjoying their respective interests and are hopefully being a bit more productive than I am at the moment!

Our local mountain, Mount Taranaki, on a cold misty morning.

I think that you will find it to be a lot of fun and like you said, a stepping stone to getting involved in even more on-line projects! These kinds of challenges are always an opportunity to learn new things and grow your skills, Have fun!
Now as to that mountain, is this a view from your home? HOW MAJESTIC!

  6. Thanks everyone for the comments on the photo. I took this photo of Mount Taranaki (also known as Mount Egmont) a year or two ago now. It was taken at about 5.00am one morning a few minutes drive down the road to get a good vantage point without too many distractions. Unfortunately there is a house in the way obstructing the view of the mountain from my home, although I can see the very tippy top of it from my kitchen. I never get bored with looking at the mountain, it is always beautiful and always different.
