Giveaway Draw Is One Week Away

Hi there. Just a quick reminder that my giveaway is drawn next weekend with a closing date of 8.00am Sunday 3 May (New Zealand time).  I will post the results some time on Sunday.

I have decided there will be two prizes. Quite a few people have expressed a desire to be in the giveaway but have not suggested a name for Toad. The winner of the main prize will be the person who has suggested the name I choose to use for Toad - so please keep the names coming in. You can suggest more than one name.  There will also be a second prize drawn from the names of anyone who has made a comment whether they have given a name for Toad or not. So if you want to enter the giveaway but have not been able to think of a name for Toad please comment that you would like to be included in the giveaway. The only condition of the giveaway is to be a follower of my blog.

As for toad - he is still only a head!

The rest of his body will have to wait until I have made a few more things for his stall so the winners of the giveaway have something to choose from.

I have made a few additions to the stall items:

Little toadstool pennant string.

A couple of chairs ready for planting and planters.

A couple of little wall plaques.

A chair in progress as well as Jane's gorgeous hutch that started it all.

A toadstool stool, planted small hollowed out pumpkin, large hollowed out pumpkin still to be planted.

I have started giving Toad's cart a bit of a battering. He uses the cart to collect bits and pieces from abandoned cabins on the edge of the woodland to make items for his stall.

A general view of the cardboard mock-up of Toad's stall. I have decide it does need a bit of frontage for landscaping so have added a foam core base.

Anyway, that is where things are with Toad's Stall. I need to spend the rest of the afternoon making some toadstools and fungi so I can make some more things. Toad is getting very excited (he would jump up and down if he had a body). He can't wait to open his stall and in the meantime he is looking forward to next weekend's giveaway draw.

See you next weekend.

  1. It's looking great! I feel like I see toad with a tall glass of toad juice and a fried fly sandwich relaxing on his chair with his feet up on a toad stool. He has a very cute head!

    1. LOL. Toad is famous for his famous honey and swamp water ale with just a pinch of juiced toadstool added for good measure. I love the idea of fried fly sandwiches. I am sure toad would approve.

    1. Maria I am more than happy if you steal a few of my ideas for your project. My inspiration for the project was Jane's hutch and the snails are based on the snails Jane made (although not nearly as good as hers). I think it is great that we can all share and learn from each other. Don't hesitate to email me if you have any queries about how I made anything.

  5. Can I suggest Todsy? I don't know why this appeals to me, maybe because it's kind of jumpy. Jumpy can also be good for a name.

  7. I'm glad for more chances to leave name ideas! Here are a few more possible names for Toad: Cornelius, Socrates, Archimedes, Trevor, Aristotle, and Bellows. I love this post and the goodies you're creating. Toad must be very excited indeed! xo Jennifer

  8. Someone with a character head like Toad won't have any trouble with waiting patiently for his body... and I think he will totally appreciate all the wonderful things your creating for his stall in the meantime. It's so much fun to look at all the awesome things you've come up - but my favourite is that toadstool chair. Hmmm... maybe I should keep this in mind for Gertie Gumthrop... ;O)

    1. I think Gertie would like that. She already has some wonderful plants but there is always room for more. I am sure she would love a toadstool chair or similar to add to her collection.

  9. Your Toad stall looks already great, Sharee, I'm so glad that you are so inspired to work on miniatures again :D! You've made some gorgeous new items for the stall :)!
I've thought of an other name for Toad, maybe his name can be 'Touchwood', who was Catweazle's toad (you can find more about this name of Touchwood on Google ;))! I thought of this name, because a few of your new items for the stall are made of wood....

  12. Hi Sharee! How about "Toadwort" for a name? It is a wild plant/ weed that looks like a ground ivy. Your items for the stall are really appropriate and I know that your Amphibian will be in Toad Heaven when he finally gets the rest of his body parts!
    Get Hoppin Sharee!
